India should have made efforts for consensus on a Gaza vote in UN

The editorial is about India’s absentation from voting on a resolution on Israel .

The resolution named ” protection of civilians and upholding legal and humanitarian obligation ” saw 120 votes in its favours . Almost all the members of BRICS voted for this .

India on the other hand cited omission of any ” explicit condemnation. ” of terrorism for the reason of not voting .

One of the paragraph however include ” condemning all acts of violence on Israeli and Palestinian citizens , including all acts of terrorism and indiscriminate attack ” .

The editorial says that rather than absenting India should have voted in favour  of this that was better .
