Several Indians released by Russian Army : MEA

·         The ministry of external affairs said on Monday that segeral Indians who joined the Russian army were already discharged after such cases were “ strongly “ taken with Russian authorities .

·         The ministry said that it is “ committed “ to secure the discharge of all Indians in all relevant cases from the Russian army .

·         Earlier The Hindu  had reported that several workers hired as security helpers for the Russian army have approached the Indian embassy in Moscow , seeking the government’s help to return home but have not received a response .

HC rejects Gyanvapi Mosque panel’s appeal against Puja

·         Allahabad High Court on Monday dismissed the plea filed by Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee challenging a district court’s order to allow prayers .

·         The high court also observed that 1993 decision of the Uttar Pradesh government ( Samajwadi Party ) to stop the worship inside the cellar was “ illegal “ .

·         The Varanasi district court on January 31 allowed prayers inside the ‘ Vyas Ka Tahkhana ‘ of Gyanvapi mosque complex .

Govt launches programme aimed at Anemia control in girls

·         The center launched on Friday to improve nutritional health in adolescent girls using Ayurveda.

·          The project for Anemia control under mission Utkarsh will be a joint public health initiative by the ministry of Ayush and Women and Child Development and would be launched in five aspirational districts .

India specific AI model to find gestational age

·         Researchers have developed an India specific Artificial Intelligence model that precisely determines Gestational age of fetus  in the Second and third Trimester of Pregnancy. Garbhini GA2 is  jointly developed by IIT , Madras and THSTI , Faridabad .

·         Garbhini GA2  will accurately predict the delivery date .

Grant permanent Commission to women : SC to Coast Guard

·         The Supreme Court on Monday urged Indian Coast Guard to ensure the Women are granted permanent commission .

·         The court was hearing a petition filed by a woman Indian Coast Guard officer who was seeking a permanent commission .

·         Government had pointed to functional and operational difficulties in granting permanent commission to Short Service Commission women .

·         “ Women can not be left out . If you do not do it , we will do it .So take a look at that . “ CJI DY Chandrachud observed .

·         PM Modi on Monday inaugurated Bharat Tex , supposedly one of the world’s largest textile exhibitions globally .

·         He asked people associated with Textile industry to think out of Box and find a new market .


Maryam Nawaz sworn in as Chief minister in Punjab

·         The eldest daughter and close aide of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif became Pakistan’s first woman chief minister of Punjab Province .

·         Opposition MPs supporting Imran boycotted the vote in Parliament .

·         Maryam Nawaz became Chief Minister with 220 – 0 vote in her favor ..

Israel proposes evacuation plan as Netanyahu vows push into Gaza’s far south

·         Israel’s military proposed a plan on Monday , for “ evacuating “ civilians from Gaza strip , after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said a ground invasion plan for the Palestinian territories southern city Rafah was necessary for “ total victory “ .

·         Foreign. governments and aid Organizations have repeatedly shared concerns that such an operation will inflict mass civilian casualties in Rafah  , where 1.4 million Palestinian from different parts of Gaza have converged . It is also an entry point for desperately needed aid , brought in via neighboring Egypt .

Last holdout Hungary approves Sweeden’s NATO membership

·         Hungary’s parliament on Monday ratified Sweden’s bid to join NATO , this has cleared the final obstacle in the way of Sweden’s NATO membership .Last month Turkiye had ratified for Sweeden’s NATO membership .

·         With this Sweden is set to be the 32 nd NATO member .

Palestinian PM resigns citing. ‘ new realities’  of Gaza war 

·         Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shatayyeh announced on Monday his resignation of his government which rules part of the West Bank . He submitted his resignation to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas who formally accepted it .

China’s anti graft body to look into corruption in BRI projects

·         Central Commission for Disciplinary Inspection ( CCDI ) ,major anti graft body of Communist Party of China ( CPC ) will be looking at the charges of corruption in BRI projects .
