Amid rising statehood demands , Shah announces five new districts for Ladakh
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday announced the formation of five new districts in Ladakh . These new districts are : Zaskar , Drass , Sham , Nubra and Changthang .
The formation of new districts is for “ bolstering governance in every nook and cranny “ , the home ministry said .
PM Narendra Modi said it was a step towards better governance and prosperity and districts would receive “ more focused attention, bringing services and opportunities closer to people .”
Ladakh currently has two districts : Leh and Kargil . These two districts have autonomous hill councils for more autonomy in local governance .
Kargil Democratic Authority ( KDA ) and Leh apex Body ( LAB ) , are the two influential civil society groups in the region , which are demanding full statehood for the state . The demand pertains to inclusion of sixth schedule , reservation for local population , 2 Lok Sabha seats and one Rajya Sabha seat for Ladakh .
LBA has announced a Padyatra to Delhi from september 1 – October 2 for demand .
Currently LAB and KDA are engaged in talks with the home ministry over their demands .
Fresh charges of harassment roil Kerala’s film industry
More women have come forward and alleged sexual harassment charges against some senior Malayalam Film names .
Actor Muni Muneer alleged that some big names in the film industry subjected her to physical and verbal abuse .
These include actor M Mukesh , actor and producer Maniyapalla Raju , and former General secretary Edavela Raju .
Actress Geeta Vijayan and Sri Devika has accused actor Thulsidas of knocking on her doors at night during shooting of a film .
BJP warns Kangana for comment on farmer’s agitation
BJP on Monday distanced itself from a controversial comment by MP Kangana Ranaut over farmers’ protest that led to scrapping of three farm laws .
BJP said that she was not authorised to make comments on behalf of the Party . She has been directed not to make any such statements in future .
Ms Ranaut had the farmers protest was a build up to a “ Bangladesh like situation in India “ , and “ dead bodies were hanging and rapes were taking place “ at the protest site .
Opposition Parties and farmers groups were making an uproar against her comment .
Farmers’ bodies claim that more than 700 people died in farmers’ protests . They allege death to be because of the government’s apathy .
Center yet to list violation of ground rules by Kuki Zo groups : KNO leader
Seilen Haokip , the spokesperson of Kuki Zo insurgent group , Kuki National Organization ( KNO ) on Monday in an interview with The Hindu said that the Union Home Ministry has not flagged inusrgent group out of talk for peace in Manipur .
Manipur government , Union Home ministry and the insurgent groups had signed a Suspension of Operation ( SoO ) pact in2008 , so that insurgent group be involved in talk and not violence .
Earlier this year , Manipur assembly passed a resolution abrogating SoO pact with insurgent groups blaming the groups of instigating violence .
Insurgent groups involved under SoO were 25 in number led by KNO .
Mr Haokip said that their demand related to Manipur has changed . Before may , 2023 their demand was of an autonomous territorial council within Manipur . But now they are demanding a separate Administration ( SA) for Kuki Zo tribe. He said that SA can be inform of UT or UT similar to Delhi .
INDIA reached a deal : 51 seats for NC ; friendly fight in five
After Hectic negotiation the National Conference ( NC ) and Congress on Monday finalised seat sharing formula for the Jammu and Kashmir .
Out of total 90 seats ,51 seats will be fought by National Conference ( NC ) , 32 by Congress , while friendly fight will take place at five seats .
One seat has been given to CPI ( M ) and Jammu and Kashmir Panthers party each .
Elections in J&K is scheduled between 18 September to 1 October .
Employees , pensioners in Punjaband Haryana dismiss UPS , call for implementation of OPS .
AAP government in Punjab had promised implemetation of OPS in 2022 , but it is still to be implemented on ground . The groups demanding OPS has rejected UPS and is asking to implement OPS .
In Harayana , election is scheduled between. 18 September to 1 octobet . Even here the employees groups protesting has asked for OPS rejecting UPS .

At least 38 killed in 3 militant strikes in Balochistan province
Gunmen in Balochistan province of Pakistan have killed at least 38 people in three separate attacks . Pakistan military in retaliation has said that security forces killed at least 21 insurgents while 14 military personnel have been martyred .
Twenty three people were shot after being taken from buses , vehicles and trucks in Mushkil .
In a separate attack gunmen killed at least nine people in Qalat district . While bodies of six were found in Bolan .
Balochistan is the largest province in Pakistan comprising about 44% of landmass and only 3.46% of population .
The province is rich with mineral resources such as Copper , Gold , Coal , and natural gas and continues to be one of the most backward regions of Pakistan .
Several insurgents groups have emerged demanding more autonomy and some even demanding cessation from Pakistan.
They are in a fight with the Pakistani military .
India should extradite Hasina : BNP leader
Bangladesh National Party ( BNP ) general secretary Alamgir speaking with The Hindu on Monday said that , the Pakistan government said that looking at bad image of Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh , India should extradite her .
He said that investment project run by India in Bangladesh will be protected but he flagged Adani electcity supply of not going well with current administration .
Adani sells all of electricity produced in Godda thermal power plant to Bangladesh . For this coal is imported from Australia . Bangladesh has said that the electricity charges under this is more than it should be .

Japan scrambles jet after Chinese aircraft ‘violates’ its airspace
Japan said that it scrambled fighter jets on Monday after a Chinese military aircraft “violated “ the airspace .
Chinese Y 9 surveillance plane “ violate Japanese airspace for around 2 minutes off the Danjo island in Nagasaki prefecture . “ , promoting Japan to deploy “ fighter jets on an emergency basis “ , Japan defence ministry said .
This was the first such incident by a Chinese military aircraft .
The Japanese Foreign ministry summoned China’s acting ambassador and “ lodged a firm protest “ .
No comment over this has come from Beijing .
Japan is an US ally . Because of increasing clout of China in the region , Japan has even started to ramp up its defence spending . It has also buried differences with South Korea to co-operate to counter China . It has also made security agreement with PHILIppines .
In the recent past Japanese and Chinese vessels have been involved in tense incidents near Senkaku island in east China sea .
Senkaku island is an uninhabited island administered by Japan but is claimed by Taiwan and China .

SpaceX to test new tech in risky private spacewalk
Two days later SpaceX will launch ‘ Polaris Down ‘ mission . In five day mission four astranauts will make spacewalk .
The spacewalk will be made for about 20 minutes , 700 km into space two days after the launch .
This will be second farthest distance man has travelled . First being on moon under Apollo mission .
Astranauts in ISS do spacewalk occasionally , but it is at a distance of 408 km from earth .
The four will be launched on Crew Dragon Vehicle . During the walk astranauts will also check newly furnished spacesuit by Space X .
